MINNEAPOLIS– At the January 8 meeting of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) board of directors, Michael Krueger, founder and president of The Money Farm, was elected to serve on the board as a nonmember director.  The Money Farm is a grain marketing advisory service located near Fargo, North Dakota.

In addition to serving as president of The Money Farm, Mr. Krueger hosts a syndicated radio and television show of the same name carried on 35 radio stations across the upper Midwest and six television stations across North Dakota.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Michael Krueger to our board of directors,” said Kent Horsager, MGEX president and ceo.  Horsager added, “Mike brings extensive market knowledge and experience to our exchange in areas relevant to our flagship product, hard red spring wheat futures, and we look forward to his participation in future MGEX endeavors.”

Mr. Krueger is a licensed commodity broker and a senior analyst for World Perspectives; a Washington based international agricultural consulting company.  Previously, Krueger was involved in spring wheat and durum wheat merchandising for Cargill, Inc., co-founded Agri-Mark (a grain marketing consulting company located in Fargo, North Dakota) and is frequently a guest on nationally syndicated television programs Ag Day and Weekend Update.

Mr. Krueger stated, “I look forward to working with the Minneapolis Grain Exchange during such an exciting time in our existing market environment and am excited to have the opportunity to participate in the ongoing development of new markets.”
The MGEX board of directors is comprised of fourteen member directors and four nonmember directors.  The remaining three nonmember director slots on the MGEX board are filled by Curt Denisuik, director of commodity risk management, Canadian Wheat Board; David W. Nelson, managing director-Chicago office, Rabobank International; and Tom Miller, grain department manager, Farmers Cooperative Company.

MGEX, established in 1881, is the only market for hard red spring wheat, Hard Winter Wheat Index (HWI), National Corn Index (NCI) and National Soybean Index (NSI) futures and options. www.mgex.com
