FULL-TIME POSITIONS

Market Regulations Investigator


The Minneapolis Grain Exchange, LLC (MGEX), a growing commodities and derivatives marketplace, has an entry level full-time position available in the Compliance Department. Candidates must be adaptive to a wide variety of tasks.


The Investigator position is ultimately responsible for protecting the integrity of MGEX futures, options and cash markets by enforcing MGEX Rules and Regulations, as well as those of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). An individual in this role will have exposure to a wide range of MGEX components including trade, financial, and market surveillance; clearing operations; and rule enforcement. There will be interaction with other commodity markets and regulatory bodies, as well as, market participants and members of MGEX.
Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:


• monitoring transactions for improper activity
• analysis of daily market surveillance reports
• conducting compliance investigations
• collecting and reporting grain movement and stocks
• reviewing price convergence and volatility
• monitoring the futures delivery process


Requirements for this position include a degree in one of the following fields: finance, economics, accounting and/or substantial exposure to commodities markets.


The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills, as well as, a proven ability to manage multiple projects with discretion and timeliness. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the ability to approach individual situations with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must. Previous audit, regulatory/compliance or SQL experience would be a plus.

Clearing and Market Operations Position

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange, LLC (MGEX), a growing commodities and derivatives market place, is seeking to add a new FT position in its Clearing and Market Operations Division.

Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team, the candidate will be responsible for the execution of critical Clearing and Market operational activities. Duties include monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on various market activities and position and price data throughout each trading day for all products listed and cleared by MGEX. In addition, the position will involve utilizing MGEX market data and trading rules in determining daily intra and end of day settlement processes, conducting daily bank wire transfers based upon these processes, and reviewing and accounting for cash and treasury bill collateral calculations and the balancing of accounts on a daily basis. Further, the candidate may be involved with various projects involving the MGEX Clearing House and existing and/or potential new products. As part of various Clearing House activities, this position may have some involvement with Risk Management procedures and projects as well. Finally, this position may communicate with various industry groups, outside regulatory bodies, and member firms of MGEX.

Required Qualifications:
• Four year degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or similar field.
• Reliable and organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks on an on-going basis and work in a team environment or independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
